Sean and Robin Penn List for $15 Million
Hollywood couple Sean Penn and Robin Wright Penn have put their San Francisco-area home on the market for $15 million.
Sean Penn's San Francisco homeThe house is in the small Marin County town of Ross, about 18 miles north of San Francisco. The Penns bought the 2.2-acre property in 1996 for $2.1 million and spent more than two years rebuilding the 1933 Spanish-style house, says Coldwell Banker broker John McGeough, who has the listing.
The 10,000-square-foot house was designed with hand-hewn wood-beamed ceilings and floors, stone fireplaces and hand-painted tiles in the bathrooms and kitchen. The two-story home has five bedrooms, a home office, an au pair suite, a gym and a three-car garage. A two-bedroom guest cottage has its own two-car garage. There's also a pool, tennis court, gardens and dog run.
A representative for Mr. Penn, who won an Academy Award for best actor for 2003's "Mystic River," and his wife, who received a Golden Globe nomination for best supporting actress for 1994's "Forrest Gump," declined to comment on where the couple planned to move.
Watts, Schreiber Revise Condo Plans
Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber are relisting the two condominiums they'd agreed to buy at New York's still-unfinished One Madison Park high-rise. Instead, the actors now intend to purchase a larger apartment at the development's planned annex, says a person familiar with their plans.
The two-bedrooms to be relisted, at $3.525 million and $4.15 million, occupy the entire 27th floor of the glass-tower luxury development, which overlooks Madison Square Park. The completed building will have a lobby designed by Rem Koolhaas and panoramic city views.
The developer has allowed the couple to resell their contracts because they are upgrading within the complex, according to their listing agent, Wilbur Gonzalez of Brown Harris Stevens. The new apartment has four bedrooms and a roughly $10 million asking price; the entire annex building will be designed by Mr. Koolhaas.
Ms. Watts got an Oscar nomination for the 2003 drama "21 Grams"; Mr. Schreiber is perhaps best known for his work in the 2004 remake of "The Manchurian Candidate." Spokeswomen for the actors didn't return calls and emails requesting comment.
Ecko's Gerszberg Sells for Charity
Seth Gerszberg, a founder of the hip-hop fashion brand Ecko, last week sold a vacant Miami Beach parcel for $12.1 million.
The land on Pinetree Drive is a 2.8-acre lot, unusually large for the area, with 300 feet of waterfront and zoned for as many as three houses. The buyer couldn't be learned. When Mr. Gerszberg listed the parcel, he said profit from a sale would go to his charity, Tikva, a home for abandoned Jewish children in Ukraine.
The 37-year-old fashion entrepreneur bought the lot for $9 million in 2004. He listed it two months ago for $13.9 million and got 13% below his asking price.
Ecko Unltd. has grown from a graffiti-inspired T-shirt line to a large fashion brand including a full clothing line and accessories. Ralph Arias and Jorge Uribe, of SOL Sotheby's International Realty, represented Mr. Gerszberg.
